Local author David Sullivan has completed work on his historical fiction novel “Audacious” of which he spoke at last summer’s annual meeting of HFR, Inc.
A portion of proceeds from sale of the book will go to Historic Flat Rock,
Inc.
As you may recall the book is about efforts to prevent the American Civil War and many scenes are set in Flat Rock and Hendersonville. It features many real life historical residents of Flat Rock as well as many well-known area locations.
David was especially pleased that Ella Oursler, who recited her award winning poem at the summer session, contributed a new poem for the book. I’ve read it and it is a truly amazing work for a poet of any age.
I had a hand at editing the book and I think you’ll find its story highly creative and imaginative! I especially enjoyed its lead female character whom a screenplay consultant characterized as a force of nature who won’t take “no” for an answer.
If you would like to reserve a copy from the book’s first print run please email David at jdmsullivan@att.net and mention that you are a member of HFR, Inc. for free shipping.
The book will retail at $19.95. No payments will need to be made until the book is ready to ship sometime in the next four weeks.
Thank you for continuing to share in our collective passion for this wonderful region!
