The Restoration Branch of the State Historic Preservation Office in Asheville, NC is here to help us. All of us, anyone who owns or is thinking of owning a historic building – private citizens, organizations, municipal or county government. There are state and federal preservation programs that can be implemented once a property is identified. The process includes evaluating, protecting and enhancing properties significant to North Carolina history.
Major program areas include coordination of:
-State and federal preservation grant-in-aid projects
-State and federal rehabilitation investment tax credit programs
-Review and monitoring of restoration and rehabilitation work on state owned properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places
-Review and monitoring of state and federal funded or licensed projects which may affect National Register listed or eligible historic properties.
